By GDL
My elderly Gerbil lost his teeth (common problem for elderly rodents), so he could not eat his regular diet or crack seeds at all. I was pretty frusterated over lack of food options for little critters that have dental problems. Was basically relegated to veggie based baby foods and grinding dry foods with a mortar and pestle. I also own parakeets, so I stumbled upon the mash and gave it a try. He LOVES it, and can eat it without any problems =). I now know he is getting a balanced diet now. I add a little water and crumble it up into little balls and he goes crazy. If any other rodent owners have a pet with dental issues, give this a try.

I couldn't be more pleased with Harrison's High Potency Mash for my canaries!! I did it - I made the switch!! A die hard bird seed feeder, I decided to ease them onto pellets and after much research I decided on Harrison's - it is organic which made it a little easier for me to take the plunge. I read the suggestions to start them out on the "mash" for a period of 6 months and then move to the fine pellet maintenance formula. My biggest worry was that the birds would not like it or even try it! Low and behold they absolutely LOVE it!! One of my birds was having a problem with his feet. He was a rape seed junkie - and I believe his health was suffering because of having such a lopsided diet in spite of my offering greens and other soft foods. Since being on the new diet his feet are about 80% improved. I am so pleased! I wholeheartedly recommend this diet for canaries - with the addition of greens and proper management I am confident that my birds will be healthier on Harrison's - so happy I discovered it!!

By Cricket
I have an older peachface lovebird that exhibits symptoms similar to humans with GERD. She is about 17 years old and with her age, has come decreased appetite. My vet recommended Harrison's High Potency Bird Mash. I sprinkled a little over her favorite birdseed, and I immediately noticed an increase in her energy levels; as well as, her interest in "life". By using the mash in powder form she inadvertently gets it on her "person"; when she cleans herself she ingests more of the food, insuring her more nourishing intake. This product has helped minimize my concerns of poor diet in an aging bird friend and I believe has given my "birdie buddie" a better quality of life.
